Dominican Republic: National Missionary Partner Completes Teaching “Growing in Grace” Series of Timothy Two Workshops in Higuey

Daniel L. Sonnenberg, Regional Director for Timothy Two Project International in Latin America

National Missionary Partner, Pastor Wisly Denis, recently completed teaching the final workshop in Timothy Two’s “Growing in Grace” series in Higuey, DR. He and his son-in-law, Anthony Silvestre Villegas, traveled a total of twelve times from their home in La Romana to the city of Higuey to teach the series of four workshops.

Following are some of Pastor Wisly’s comments after this workshop:

“We praise the name of the Lord because he allowed us to end the fourth workshop with lots of success. Even though there was much rain, that didn’t prevent us from working for the Lord.”

Following are several testimonies from the participants after the fourth workshop:

  1. RUTH: “The fourth workshop impacted my life a lot, so I promise to keep sharing deeply what I have learnt from Pastor Wisly regarding these topics.”
  2. DEZERNÉ: “I used to trouble myself for the way I used to see how the pastors used to get money from the members in the churches without knowing what the bible says regarding this, but now I’m quite clear based on how the Holy Spirit inspired Pastor Wisly to teach us.”
  3. ANGENA: “One of the most important things I considered that I learnt was about how to behave ourselves the presence of God and the right way to worship Him.”
  4. BEATRICE: “The workshop was very amazing, because it covered topics which are extremely important for leaders nowadays. So I’ve learnt much about each of these topics. Praise to God.”

Timothy Two Project International (TTPI) exists to serve a critical need around the world. We are committed to equipping and training indigenous pastors and ministry leaders with the essential truths of the Christian faith so they can train others. This way, the mandate from Christ in the Great Commission to “make disciples” can be accomplished in areas of the world where there is little or no formal biblical or theological training available.

What sets TTPI apart is the Philosophy of Ministry we use. We travel to cities and villages where pastors need training, but cannot leave their homes and families to go to a Bible College. The Lord raises up a host pastor, who invites 8-12 key pastors in the area to a workshop. This interactive training week enables local pastors to receive a foundation for their faith. TTPI is based upon 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” When a pastor finishes a TTPI workshop, he leaves with all of our material in his own language, plus notes he has taken from the dialogue we use to help transfer biblical truths from the head to the heart. He is ready to use this same material to train others. All of our theology is based upon the Westminster Confession of Faith.
