The plan for the trip
I invited National Missionary Partners Helmuth Aguilar and Jaime Lopez to join me on the trip.
And I asked them to share testimonies of how God has used Timothy Two workshops in their own countries (Chile, El Salvador & Guatemala) in each of the 5 places we planned to visit in Costa Rica.
We traveled 3-4 hours each way most days to reach less accessible areas of the country where pastors have few opportunities for theological training.
Where we traveled on the trip
We traveled to 5 less accessible areas of the country in the vicinity of Rio Naranjo, Nicoya, Acosta, Limon and Perez Zeledon.
In RIO NARANJO: We met with Pastor Marvin Leandro, training coordinator for the Association of Costa Rican Biblical Churches and visited the facilities of the denomination’s camp where the workshops could be held.
In ACOSTA: We met with local pastors association President Alberto Bonilla, Oscar Fernandez and Pastor William Anchietta, then viewed the church facility where the workshops could be held.
In NICOYA: We met with local pastors association President Anabelli Madriz and taught four sample lessons from our four basic workshops with this group of 20 pastors to give them a taste of our teaching materials and methods.
In LIMON: We met with local pastors association President Denis Barrios and the board, then viewed church classrooms where the workshops could be held, and finally met with 20 members of the pastors association.
In PEREZ ZELEDON: We met with local pastors association President Pastor Fulvio Cambronero to share what Timothy Two has to offer pastors who need and want biblical-theological training.
The result of the trip
Four of the five groups have already set dates for the first workshop in August, September, January and February respectively. The fifth is meeting with their members to determine when to begin the workshops in their region.
Many thanks for your prayers for this very fruitful trip! Thanks also to Otto Kladensky, Jr. and Oscar Fernandez who co-coordinated our visits to the various locations.
